Nikki Kersey is a Community Sexual Reproductive Health (CSRH) specialty trainee doctor, based at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital and at Abacus Sexual Health Clinic.
Nikki qualified from Leicester Medical School in 2012, and completed Foundation Training in Manchester in 2014. Following this, she worked for Health Education North West for one year as a leadership fellow, working to improve junior doctors’ working lives.
Prior to commencing specialty training, Nikki worked as an emergency department registrar in Australia for two years. In 2018, she volunteered for a medical clinic in Moria Refugee Camp in Greece.
Nikki has conducted research in Uganda, looking at women’s perceptions of local family planning services, and she is particularly interested in improving patient education and engagement in sexual health and contraceptive services.
Nikki enjoys travelling and hiking and is always looking for an excuse to get away, even if it is a rainy weekend in her campervan in the UK!
